First Annual Jim Reeves Country
Music Jamboree a Success: On a cool,
crisp, October 20th night at the Rose Hill Theater in Henderson, TX, several
hundred true Jim Reeves' fans as well as a live radio broadcast through
much of East Texas by radio station KGAS of Carthage, saw and heard John
Rex Reeves perform an hour and half of Jim Reeves' greatest hits. Hosted
by long time Jim Reeves friend and business partner, Tom Perryman, John
Rex opened the show with Jim's first number one hit, Mexican Joe, and continued
on with his many classics. Flanked by his Jim Reeves Nashville Tribute
Band, featuring the great Doyle Grisham, John Rex
closed the show with Jim's biggest hit, He'll Have to Go and I Won't Forget
You. John Rex also found time to sing a few of his own songs.Though the
turn out for the live performance was a little lighter than expected, plans
ar already underway for next year's second
show. The possibility of an indoor venue is being explored to better accomodate
Jim's older fans. Check back soon at this website for. Thanks to all who

Torok, writer of Jim Reeves' first number
one hit, Mexican Joe, will be releasing in early '02 his
book, Jim Reeves, Me and Mexican Joe. In addition, he has asked John Rex
Reeves to record a song that he and Jim wrote together
and Jim had planned to record just prior to
his death. The song has never before been recorded and will
be included with the book. Check back at
this website soon for ordering information.
The book will be a "must" for all Jim Reeves fans.
