The Texas Country Music Hall of Fame is located in Carthage, Texas. Opened in 1998, the museum features the Tex Ritter Museum and highlights the work and accomplishments of Texas' greatest country musicians. The Jim Reeves Monument and burial site is located three miles east of Carthage on Highway 79. Each year, on the Friday night before the annual TCMHoF awards show, the TCMHoF and KGAS Radio present the John Rex Reeves Pickin' Party, hosted by John Rex and featuring The Hayriders. The show features visiting celebrities as well as a talent show featuring many fine area artists.
